Dr Farhan Ashraf
Dr Farhan Ashraf is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol. Dr Ashraf has been working on crystal plasticity finite element models. He innovated in computational physics-based models that reproduce the macroscopic cyclic response of FCC metals by parameterizing micro- and mesoscale attributes. Moreover, He developed computational-friendly engineering approaches for fatigue life prognosis in metal alloys. Dr Ashraf will carry out crystal plasticity modelling and simulation activities related within the SINDRI project. His research will help in a better understanding of the use of crystal plasticity methods for reliable prediction of creep damage in-service metal alloys.

Dr Chen Liu
Dr Chen Liu is a research associate at the Imperial College London. Dr Liu has research interests in the mechanical behaviours of materials spanning from extrinsic architected materials (e.g., lattice materials) to intrinsic metallic materials. In SINDRI, Dr Liu will conduct experiment and simulation works, covering thermo-mechanical testing (high temperature tensile, creep, fatigue), microstructural characterisation in 2D and 3D and simulation of specimen under certain loading conditions. His research will improve the modelling works to predict the material behaviours under the service environment of stress and high temperature.

Dr Julio Spadotto
Dr Julio Spadotto is a Research Associate in the Department of Materials/Henry Royce Institute at The University of Manchester. He is experienced in using electron microscopy to investigate structural materials, focusing on phase transformation and identification, precipitation processes, and microstructural evolution. In SINDRI, he works with advanced electron microscopy techniques and experiments with synchrotron radiation to characterise steels and austenitic stainless steels.
